On Sunday, Sept. 26 CRRC held the second annual Head Race Regatta. All ages and rowing experience participated and 11 rowers competed in singles, doubles, and/or quads. With some gusty winds and big boat wakes, all managed to complete the out and back course, though some rowers were blown off course by a hefty P/S wind and some attempted to displace some immovable objects! The 2 singles and 5 doubles teams raced first and the afternoon events concluded with a shorter side by side race by 2 mixed quads. Pizza and salad were enjoyed by rowers and families, followed by awards presentations by coach and course manager John Wagner. Thanks to John and Fred Keer for safety boat monitoring the course in such challenging conditions! And thanks to club and family volunteer time keepers, boat schleppers, dock monitors, flag wavers, and cheerers. SEE GALLERY CRRC HEAD OF THE CHESTER 2021.
